Services

At Hearth & Hound, we’re dedicated to providing pets with loving, reliable care—and giving you peace of mind, wherever your travels take you. With over a decade of experience in pet sitting, veterinary support, and wellness, we bring both heart and expertise to every stay. While our roots are in local care, we now focus on international and specialty services designed to meet unique needs around the world.

*Note: While international sits are generally a mutual exchange for housing, specialty services and medical support visits can be an added cost, depending on the service.

✈️ International Sitting

Trusted house & pet sitting around the world – based on mutual exchange, not payment.

As full-time travelers and experienced pet sitters, we offer warm, responsible care for pets and homes across the globe. We provide:

  • A calm presence for pets who thrive in their own space
  • Wellness support for senior or special-needs animals
  • Light home and garden care
  • Thoughtful communication and updates while you’re away

Our international sits are offered as a thoughtful exchange: we provide loving, reliable care for your pets and home in return for a warm, comfortable place to stay and basic utilities/Wi-Fi during our visit. It’s more than a barter — it’s a partnership rooted in trust, kindness, and the simple joy of creating a sense of home wherever we are—settling in with respect and care so your pets can relax and feel truly looked after.

🗺️ The Stay

If you're requesting international sits, please be aware that we prefer to commit to visits that can accommodate us one day in advance of the sit starting. This allows us to meet in person, answer (or ask) any last minute questions, and get a lay of the land while you're still at home.

We also prefer sits that are a minimum of 1-2 weeks depending on our location and travel time.

🐾 The Process

Embarking on this journey together is simple and intentional. Our process is designed to build trust, understand your pets’ needs, and make sure everything is ready for a smooth, caring experience—whether you’re close by or oceans away.

  • Step 1: Pet Sitting Questionnaire
Fill out a questionnaire for each pet—covering routines, health, behavior, and training. Even if we don't end up working together, these are amazing notes for any pet sitter to have.
  • Step 2: Meet & Greet (45 minutes)
    • Do a tour of the space and talk through your pet's routine.
    • Review the Pet Questionnaires you've already submitted for each pet.
    • Discuss what our Pet Sitting Agreement looks like.
    • Review any follow-up paperwork (Step 3) and answer any questions you might have.
    • A chance for both sides to decide if we’re a good fit.
  • Step 3: Forms & Agreement
Complete the required forms: These must be submitted within a week of the Meet & Greet for your sit to be confirmed.
    • Client/Home Profile
    • Veterinary Release & Emergency Form
    • Payment Method Authorization Form
    • Pet Sitting Agreement
  • Step 4: Confirmation & Next Steps
Once all forms are received and the agreement is signed, your sit is officially booked. From there, we’ll coordinate any last details before your trip.

Why Choose Us

Because we believe pet care is about more than feeding and walks—it’s about comfort, connection, and the peace that comes from knowing your home and animals are in capable, caring hands.
